This book centers around Violet, the daughter of a farmer who encounters her kingdom's prince when he is found unconscious in their fields after a storm. The two quickly fall in love - but Richard's parents want him to marry a true princess. Violet soon finds herself competing with princesses from throughout the land in order to prove her identity and character in hopes of winning Richard's hand.
